Adelman Residence

ONGOING MAINTENANCE AND RESTORATION

In the mid 1940’s, Albert “Ollie” Adelman and his wife, Edith, commissioned the famous American Architect Frank Lloyd Wright to design a 3,000 square foot house in Fox Point, Wisconsin.

In 2005, the house was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. It remained occupied by the Adelman’s until Ollie’s passing in 2012. Craig Adelman, one of the three sons that grew up in the house, has since taken possession and moved into the home.

Wright had relied on a 66”x66” grid to organize the building plan, similar to grids he had used in other Usonian home designs of that era. That grid helped inform how a new rear courtyard design, pool, and pool house would be incorporated into the site.
