This existing mid-century ranch home had small bedrooms which did not fit the scale of the large main living spaces. With a new addition, a large master bedroom with en-suite and walk in closet were incorporated, as well as a guest bedroom.
The addition design was carefully integrated with the main house so that it would not appear as an add-on. Exterior updates at the main house tie the addition design in with the existing, including new stained cedar tongue & groove siding at all gables. An exact stone match was found so that the addition maintains the same stone look at all exterior walls.
The new master bedroom will have a multi-panel sliding patio door that opens onto a new private courtyard space. A higher roof line at the master allows for a gracious vaulted ceiling. A bedroom at the entrance of the addition was repurposed as a family office space for homework and bills.
